All about Begur and its beaches
Begur is one of the best-known municipalities with the most personality in the Catalan region of Baix Empordà, in the province of Girona. Both the town itself and its wonderful beaches and coves constitute one of the most important tourist centers on the Costa Brava and Catalonia.
Begur is a town whose historical roots go back to prehistory, but it is the medieval period that has left some of the most representative monuments of the city, such as the castle of Begur and the defense towers built to protect against pirate attacks from the XVI and XVII centuries.
Another of the main attractions of Begur are the Indian constructions made by Begurians who throughout the 19th century crossed the Atlantic to make their fortune on the American continent, especially Cuba, and who later returned to the city displaying the wealth they had achieved through spectacular Indian houses.
Begur is formed by the nucleus of Begur itself, by the urbanizations located in the mountains that surround it (Residencial Begur, Casa de Campo,...) where you can find
